THIS WEEK'S BIG EVENT - Birnam Highland Games

When: Saturday 28th of August, from 11 a.m. onwards
Where: Follow signs to the Games ground from the A9

The Birnam Highland Games is one of the biggest and best events of the year here and makes for a great family day out.

In addition to all the traditional events and music, you can enter the World Championship Haggis Eating competition or the Mad Kiltie Dash, depending on your area of expertise! The Games also host the Scottish 100 yard medal and 800 metre championship, and there is an impressive beer tent and, for children (and the odd grown-up), all the excitement of the funfair.

Paths for All

Dunkeld has a network of paths, unrivaled for Perthshire, there are many routes documented that can be found from various websites and we hope to eventually bring them to this web site, but there is a local network of paths known as "paths for all" that offer a freedom rarely found in such a beautiful part of Scotland, these are what they say, ideal for all the family and of any age and ability, wheel chair, electric buggy, kids buggies and bicycles. The paths are maintained to a high standard and there is little requirement for the user to use the pavements except in the village.
