The Bridge February 2010 - Editorial

The Bridge February 2010 - Editorial

We were driving to Angus and had followed the same car through Dunkeld, down the boat road and into Spittalfield. As we slowed up for the 30mph speed zone my husband remarked ‘I bet he lives in Spittalfield.’ ‘Excuse me?’ I asked ‘Well he sped through Dunkeld but now he’s got home he’s slowing down’ we came up to the Green in Spittalfield and the car signalled left. “Blow me, “ I thought, “he’s right again.” However according to the community council it’s us, not outsiders who are ignoring the new 20mph on The Bridge and through Dunkeld. I mentioned it to the Oracle and asked if he was sticking to the 20mph. “20?! I haven’t seen any signs” and actually I’ll forgive him this one as the signs are a bit on the miniscule side – but well done to everyone who’s campaigned so hard to get them there. So everyone, including me, let’s slow down and increase the safety for everyone. Thank you very much. Anyway the Noughties are behind us and we’re into to a fancy dancy new decade. Tons to do and look forward to. New groups starting include: Fly tying; Mindfulness Meditation Group and a Christian House Fellowship Group plus all your old favourites. Thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm in starting new things and keeping those things that are going, going.
