The Bridge July 2010 - EditorialWelcome to the double summer edition and another action packed Bridge full of interesting articles and news from around the village. In particular there will be a lot going on at the recreation ground with discussions underway about developments at the ground as well as a new ‘Try a Sport’ event and of course the ever popular Birnam Highland Games. May I take this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the external refurbishments of the clubhouse that have been undertaken – it looks lovely and is a great example of what can be done when everyone pulls together. We’ll be off to join the Summer Reading Challenge at the library – every year the numbers of children joining in with this event has grown which is all credit to Mags Quigley who makes the library such a friendly and inviting place for everyone to visit. If you want to stick with outdoor activities why not try visiting the sheepdog trials up at Milton of Tulliemet, get out training for the Kiltie Dash or help out at one of the orchard open days. Mind you the orchard report gave me the fi rst whiff of autumn with mention of their apple picking days in September – but I shall ignore that just for the moment and enjoy the long summer days. Look forward to catching up again in September. Click here to download Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4 (Pages open in a new window)
